FAQ

Questions, answered

If you don’t find what you’re looking for, reach out — we’re glad to help.

General

What if I can’t keep my dog someday?

Come back to us — always. It’s in our contract: at any point in the dog’s life, for any reason, we will take our dog back. No dog from our program will ever need a shelter.

Pricing & Deposits

How much does a puppy cost?

We share current pricing during the application conversation, along with everything it includes — health testing on both parents, veterinary care, microchip, starter supplies, and lifelong breeder support. We’d rather talk it through with you than post a number without context.

How do deposits work?

We never take a deposit from someone we haven’t spoken with. After your application is approved and we both feel it’s a match, a deposit holds your place for a current or upcoming litter. We’ll explain the amount and refund terms in writing before you pay anything.

Waitlist & Visits

How does the waitlist work?

Approved families join the waitlist for a specific litter (or the next available). Matching is by fit, not strictly first-come: we pair each puppy’s temperament with the right home, which is better for the puppy and for you.

Can we visit or video call?

Yes — we encourage it. We host visits by appointment once puppies are old enough, and we’re always glad to do video calls, which most families find easiest. You’ll see exactly where and how our dogs live.

Registration

Are the puppies registered?

Registration details for each litter (and whether placement is on limited or full registration) are confirmed before you commit and spelled out in your contract. Most companion placements are on limited registration.

Health & Testing

What health testing do you do?

Both parents complete health testing appropriate to the breed — hips, elbows, heart, eyes, and a genetic panel — before any pairing. Each dog’s results are listed on their profile, and we share certificates with approved families.

Do puppies see a vet before going home?

Every puppy is examined by our veterinarian, receives age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming, and goes home with a written health record and our health guarantee.

Pickup & Delivery

When can puppies go home — and do you ship?

Puppies go home at 8 weeks or later. We prefer in-person pickup so we can meet you, do the paperwork together, and send you off properly. Ask us about delivery options within the region — we don’t ship puppies as cargo.

Food & Care

What comes home with the puppy?

A go-home packet: starter food, a scent blanket that smells like mom and littermates, health records, care instructions, your contract and health guarantee, and our phone number — which you can use for the life of your dog.
